Yeah ok, this could turn into some kind of rant and if it does than I apologize but today I’ve just about had it with SEGA and what they have done to destroy their only good thing going for them. I’m talkin’ about Sonic the Hedgehog, who at one time stood up to the mighty powerful empire of Nintendo and laughed in it’s face. While at the time a more powerful system, SEGA had all tools to plow right over Nintendo and with SONIC TEAM being in it’s prime had all the talent to do it . What ended up happening is SEGA’s ambition to push the industry ahead caused them to produce huge financial failures and then not anticipating the rise of the Sony empire. SEGA was always so quick to the punch and then never enough resources to take it through the end. Since those days its only been beaten down by its degrading innovation and its ultimate deciscion to become a software only company. Which brings me to my point of Sonic, the only card left in SEGA’s deck. Well, since SONIC TEAM’s most powerful members are now completely gone, who could really revive the sonic franchise? Apparently, nobody. With the latest Sonic game Sonic Unleashed, I gave it a chance, I let myself hope for the best but once again was disappointed. I am sad that we lost one of gaming’s greatest mascots, even disgusted that he is still thrown out there in these horrible games for all to see. To think that kids who are introduced to Sonic by these games think of Sonic is always this way. May a day come when somone comes along with the talent and enthusiasm to bring  Sonic to his once former glory.
